In 2005, Edgar’s Restaurant opened at Good Park Golf Course in Akron as a partnership with three managing members including award-winning Executive Chef Glenn Gillespie.
In 2012, Chef Glenn took overall operations and now privately owns and manages the restaurant. Since then, we have become one of Akron’s top fine dining destinations commonly offering live in-house music performances and special networking events. We also offer an extensive wine menu, mixed drink list, and bar area.
In 2015, Edgar’s rebranded as the Cornucopia of Culture! Each week, Chef Glen creates a “weekly features” menu involving foods from a variety of countries, cultures, and styles. Patron favorites range from Creole Seafood to Greek Cuisine.
The popular Cooking Classics series was introduced in 2018, wherein guests would serve as an audience to a special cooking demonstration by Chef Glenn, followed by a tasting of every food and drink preparation. This event series is an exquisite way for us to connect more intimately with our patrons.

a month agoWonderful experience at Edgar's. Wing Wednesday, so we got the tossed wings w/Thai Chile sauce as an appetizer. Crispy outside, tender inside - very nice! My LW ordered a wedge salad and the smoked mac-n-cheese. I opted for the Brisket French Dip with a side of Skillet potatoes. Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. The Chef even stopped by our table and we had a great conversation with him. Can't wait to go back!

6 months agoWe were surprised to find Edgar's located inside a golf course but the restaurant was large and the staff were friendly and helpful. It was early on a Saturday night and the restaurant was empty but the large bar area was crowded. Before we left a large party arrived and a few more tables filled but it was not too crowded. We were told the ingredients for our cocktails were not available due to a large party the previous night then waited 30 min for the oysters Rockefeller, which were overcooked. I tried the ribs that seemed to be reheated and we got the smoked chicken that was pretty good. The grilled potatoes were raw inside and the greens were undercooked and lacked any flavor. Prices were a little high for the quality of the food. Overall the staff were great, the restaurant was nice but the food was not great.

5 months agoIdk why this place has 4 stars. I only gave 2 stars cause the waiter was good. We came here for my daughter’s birthday on a Friday night. Let’s start with the bread, the free bread was half done the rest was uncooked dough. I ordered the seafood pasta the only thing it had was shrimp and a bunch of green chiles it was missing some other things that were supposed to be on the menu. My daughter ordered half rack ribs Mac n cheese and greens and let me tell you them greens was horrible. Canned greens tasted like a pound of salt the Mac n cheese tasted like old moldy cheese. Her friend ordered seafood gumbo. I have never seen gumbo so dry in my life. The calamari looked half done and the steak well it was just steak nothing special the mashed potatoes were dry. I would never eat here again I was very dissatisfied. The waiter was nice enough to take one of the meals off but we still paid over $100. Not worth it at all. And I see why nobody was here on a Friday night besides at the bar. My lemon drop was ok.

a month agoI had the stuffed catfish and my partner had the king prime rib. Both meals were delicious! But you cannot beat the herb and olive oil dip and break. The bar staff were very attentive, and hostesses are sweet. Great vibes in the music!

a week agoThe food was absolutely delicious and on point, but service was really slow and inattentive. Water, bread and our appetizer came out fairly quickly, but we waited for drinks and had to ask about our food after an hour of waiting. Our server seemed distracted and overwhelmed, although the dining room did not appear to be overly swamped. Also, the restaurant needs to make a couple policies more clear. Charging a $10 dollar per person fee when there is live music, and saying on the menu that there is a $10 per bill fee for live music are not necessarily saying the same thing. Just say there's a $10 cover fee, and everybody understands that. Please also just say that a 20% gratuity is added to every check instead of saying it applies to "parties of one or more". That's silly wording. Overall, great food just didn't overcome our service experience, and we will not be back.
